The poem without a hero - En Avant

Oxana Sankova maakt en speelt een nieuw autobiografisch toneelstuk. The poem without a Hero gaat over de invloed van de ideologie van de overheid op de gewone mens die in of buiten de staat leeft, met Rusland als voorbeeld.

Sankova gebruikt op theatrale wijze haar eigen perspectief: een migrant in België. Samen met Russische artiesten (online presence) vertelt ze over angst, schaamte, nationalisme en hoe deze het dagelijkse leven beïnvloeden. Dagboekfragmenten, WhatsApp-gesprekken en documentair materiaal verweeft Sankova met fictie tekstmateriaal, waardoor een gelaagde polyfonie van wanhoop ontstaat.

In the spring of 2024, Oxana Sankova is creating and performing a new autobiographical play about the influence of state ideology on ordinary people living inside and outside the state, using the example of Russia. Thereby she theatrically uses her own perspective: a migrant in Belgium. Together with four Russian artists (present via zoom), she will perform a play that talks about fear, shame, nationalism and how they affect everyday life. Diary fragments, WhatsApp conversations and documentary material are intertwined with fiction text material, creating a polyphony of despair.
